Watching Chicago

from $250.00

Captured in 2025, this photograph centers on the clock tower of the Reid Murdoch Building, one of those Chicago icons that feels like it’s quietly keeping an eye on the city. I framed it through the steel structure of the Clark Street Bridge to let the architecture speak in layers: the rivets, the shadows, the tower rising behind them, and the flow of people moving across the bridge. It’s the contrast between permanence and motion that makes this frame work.

The clock sits in full light while the foreground stays dark, giving the image a natural sense of depth. It turns a busy moment into something more intentional, almost like the clock is watching the crowd instead of the other way around.

These prints are produced in strictly limited editions:

16×24 inches (Edition of 5)
20×30 inches (Edition of 5)
24×36 inches (Edition of 3)

After these editions sell out, the image is permanently retired from printing. Only two Artist Proofs exist beyond these editions. Every print is made on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta, signed, and accompanied by a registered Hahnemühle Certificate of Authenticity. Prints are sold unframed. Shipping available within the US and Mexico.

This piece works well in spaces that lean toward industrial tones or architectural design, places where texture, contrast, and history stand strong.
