Captured in 2025, this photograph brings together three layers of Chicago at once: the river, the architecture, and the daily life happening along the riverwalk. The buildings appear as reflections broken apart by winter ice, turning the skyline into a mosaic floating on the surface of the water. Above that, the riverwalk adds movement and scale, a reminder that this space is lived in, not just admired.
I shot this from above to line up those layers naturally. The geometry shifts depending on where your eye lands: the fractured ice, the vertical forms of the reflected towers, the walkway cutting across the frame. It’s a winter scene, but more than that, it’s a quiet portrait of how the city’s architecture and its residents coexist with the river.
These prints are produced in strictly limited editions:
16×24 inches (Edition of 5)
20×30 inches (Edition of 5)
24×36 inches (Edition of 3)
After these editions sell out, the image is permanently retired from printing. Only two Artist Proofs exist beyond these editions. Every print is made on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta, signed, and accompanied by a registered Hahnemühle Certificate of Authenticity. Prints are sold unframed. Shipping available within the US and Mexico.
This piece works well in contemporary, design-focused spaces where strong lines and subtle textures can anchor the room.
