The "El" Train

from $250.00

Captured in 2025, this photograph focuses on one of the most defining symbols of Chicago life: the elevated train cutting through the heart of the Loop. I wanted a familiar scene, but not the usual perspective. Instead of shooting it straight on, I tilted the frame and let the steel beams, bolts, and diagonal lines define the composition. The geometry creates its own rhythm, the architecture, the tracks, and the train all intersecting in a way that feels both structured and chaotic, just like the city itself.

The El isn’t just transportation here. It’s a heartbeat. It moves people, stories, and energy through downtown every single day, and from this angle you see how it weaves itself into the grid of glass and steel around it.

These prints are produced in strictly limited editions:

16×24 inches (Edition of 5)
20×30 inches (Edition of 5)
24×36 inches (Edition of 3)

Once these editions sell out, the image is permanently retired from printing. Only two Artist Proofs exist beyond the numbered editions. Every print is made on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta, signed by me, and paired with a registered Hahnemühle Certificate of Authenticity. Prints are sold unframed. Shipping available within the US and Mexico.

This piece works well in spaces that appreciate strong architectural lines, urban movement, and the visual identity of Chicago’s Loop, a city defined by steel, rhythm, and perspective.
